How do these carts hold up to to the elements? Do you owners cover them? I don't want to spend $$ and have to replace it in a few years?
-
I keep all of my cooking items (including lump) in the cart and it not covered (at the moment). It keeps everything dry etc. I want a cover eventually to protect the paint. I have no doubt that this cart will last over the years.XL BGEJoe JRBaltimore, MD

@johnnyspo I think it is the same with anything purchased- If take proper care and precautions, it should last a long time.
I did purchase the cover for it. My reasoning is that I have my table on a sun exposed deck for most of the day. So for me, spending a few bucks on a cover will assist in making the table last longer than if exposed. The cover will also keep all the excess moisture (rain) off the EGG, and considering the recent posts about mold and water getting soaked up into the ceramics just heeds more of a reason to cover it.
I have more than enough confidence in the Challenger cart to be able to stand the test of time. With proper care and maintenance, and without abuse, mine will.

I just ordered the 48" cart, which will delivered to my house next week. How did you guys place the large BGE in the cart?I bought the cart through a local dealer here in Charlotte and he's going to deliver it. Is it customary for them to help place the BGE in the cart?

My dealer installed the egg in the cart for me. If you have to do it yourself take the egg apart.ColAngus said:I just ordered the 48" cart, which will delivered to my house next week.

I wish I had a sewing machine or a wife that knew what a needle and thread was. If I had the resources I would do that as well.
I could buy a $500 machine to sew my $50 cover!!!!!! LOL.
