Food saver?
Traveling as I do I get so sick of eating out. How long would ribs, pulled pork, chicken, etc... Using the food saver how long would food keep in a cooler? Smoked some bologna this weekend and had it tonight... Man, it's bad when a bologna sammich taste that good. Plus dinner cost about a dollar.
Hey honey.... I'm saving enough on food to get that YETI. No, of course I won't keep beer in it. It's just for food.

No experience with cooked food, but I love my FS for buying in bulk or on sale.
How long are your trips? I'm sure it'd work._______________________________________________XLBGE -
I have no data to back me up... But I would think that correctly vacuumed packed foods would last at least 2 weeks if they are kept below 40deg.MSV Chill Spot

I'd guess 4 days. No problem.Be careful, man! I've got a beverage here.

I've eaten ckn thighs 8 days old out of my fridge.Be careful, man! I've got a beverage here.

Most trips see 3-5 but sometimes 10 days. I figured as long as I keep it cold... At least till I get to travis's house.Green egg, dead animal and alcohol. The "Boro".. TN

I'd think the food saver would add some help, and then keep it under 40, and you'd have to be doing the same or better than a fridge. I eat stuff out of my fridge for 7-10 days depending.hapster said:I have no data to back me up... I just picked up the V3820 at Sam's. It seems pretty solid and can do big bags as well. It's bigger than I thought it would be. Whatever you get, make sure it's got the accessory ability (maybe they all do). There's an accessory ($10) that's a jar sealer and lets you pull a seal on mason jars.
-
The 3820 is nice had mine for a couple years now. Costco runs it on sale for $119 fairly regularly. I would get the quick marinator accessory you can marinate food in 10 minutes and it actually works well.
-
@LDR... Thanks. I guess I could freeze the food for long trips and that would maybe buy some time. Yeti, Pelican... Damn they're expensive.Green egg, dead animal and alcohol. The "Boro".. TN

If you can find a Wolfgang Puck Food Saver (not sure exact name) as they are no longer made, it is much easier to clean and uses any other food saver bags and attachments. We have both and prefer the WgP food saver.
-
Dude, get a brute cooler. The pelican weighs 50 lbs empty. I can get you 15% off a brute.Be careful, man! I've got a beverage here.

I agree with hapster. I got the same one at Sams this weekend and was packing strawberries. It quit working after packing about 15 packs. Taking it back tomorrow.

Dude, I spend a fair bit of time on the road and one of my favourite things to do is go in to a local grocery store and pick the local cold meats, salami and such with a small piece of cheese a salad and some fresh buns
