Mom made killer cornmeal chocolate chip pancakes, curry chicken broccoli bake, liver sausage sandwiches (braunschweiger and mayo), white chicken chili, and tuna noodle casserole, all of which I still love today.

[Northern] Virginia is for [meat] lovers.

    Thought of a few more:
Fish sticks, raw hot dogs (right out of the fridge), Captain Crunch, Shake and Bake chicken, Pop Tarts, Well done steak, Circus peanuts (the orange marshmallow type things that hurt your teeth), boogers.

And I thought we were the only ones to ever do this
I was a private in the Army, newly married, between payday, poor and FLAT broke and the only thing we had in the cupboard to eat was Cheerios and Mrs. Butterworths  syrup. We still do this 30+ years later for a snack, and it always brings a smile to our faces

Bread baking days. On a cold winter day coming home from school to the smell of fresh bread out of the oven with melted butter. We never had store bought bread in the house. Hmmmmmm, so good. ;;)

    Peanut Butter and Mayo sandwiches

Cowboy Stew (made with chicken livers and gizzards) over rice

For a sweet treat, Mom would put syrup and smashed up butter on a saucer and serve with a piece of bread to sop it up.

Burger King used to have a sandwich (I think it was called a Yumbo or Yambo) that was a pile of thinly sliced ham with melted cheesed on a hamburger bun. I loved those things.

Also, peanut butter and bacon sandwiches.
    :P

Well, "spa-Peggy" is kind of like spaghetti. I'm not sure what Peggy does different, if anything. But it's the one dish she's kind of made her own.

Mom use to spread chocolate frosting on Graham Crackers for a snack! Come to think of it, no wonder I'm overweight!

Mine did fluff on graham crackers and butter on sliced angel food cake. As a grandma she made my daughter go through a phase where she couldn't eat strawberries without a coating of Nutella.

    My mom is trouble.

Yes, a fun thread for sure!
All through gradeschool I ate baloney sandwiches with mustard on Wonder bread, never tired of them.  I'll still make one once in a while, although I'm trying to get away from processed meats.
Every Sunday before church Mom would make up a homemade batch of cinnamon rolls, and pop them in the oven when we got back, Yum!  Then, Dad's steaks on the grill, over Kingsford lit with gasoline!  :))
Right before Hostess went out of business I realized I hadn't eaten a Twinkie in almost four decades, so I bought a package.  Couldn't finish the second one, YUCK!
    Others:
La Choy Chow Mein out of a can, over rice.  Never ate real chinese food until I joined the Air Force!
    Mom's homemade hamhock soup.
Grilled cheese sammiches and Campbell's tomato soup.
Always had to choke down beets, fried until almost black.
    Good times...
