I'm with you fred, the lump reducing ring thingy is not the same as L brackets. I used to do the direct indirect thing in my gas grill, get one side blazing, sear, and then slide over to the other side that is off and get ambient heat to roast till done_______________________________________________XLBGE

@travisstrick - Hey Travis, why is the lump ring a must have? I was leaning toward the L brackets to bank the coals like I used to do with my Weber kettle creating direct and indirect zones. I've been meaning to get into wokking. Is the 20" wok noobie friendly or is it desireable for it's big capacity? If I drop your name, will Mrs. Chen cheerfully sell me the wok? The AR is a great system for the large and I assume for the XL as well.travisstrick said:Call Tom and get one of the NEW ss lump rings. It's a must have. If you get a wok, get the 20in hand hammered made in china from mrs Chen. You will have to talk her into selling you one. They are only for her commercial customers. Adj rig makes life much easier.
Fred you might should use my name as she likes me. Travis got her Daughter PG and she has a hit out on him now.Salado TX & 30A FL: Egg Family: 3 Large and a very well used Mini, added a Mini Max when they came out (I'm good for now). Just given a Mini to add to the herd. -

Steven this is at lunch one day and Mrs S did not see Travis leave the house ( she has ask me never to let him get out of the house that way again). But here he is sitting on 6 Metro phone books. I think you can take him.
