Almost a year cooking with my BGE XL and never attempted Ribs!

Baby Back Ribs, 4 slabs
DP Coarse Grind
Cooked indirect 300ºF for 1:30hrs
Foiled with apple juice for 45 min.
Basted with 2 types of BBQ sauce for 45min like 4 times.
Budweisers and Hunts Hickory & honey

Nice smoke ring!
Used Pecan Chunks.

They both were very tasty, but the Hunts was just too plain, the Budweiser was a lot better.
Should have used Stubs but only had spicy available and wanted Sweet. That is for Next time.
They were very moist a little on the firm side but not fall of the bone. I guess a few more minutes
on each stage will help with that.

  • Man those look great..gotta love babybacks
  • Then the meat starts to pull back on the bone by an inch they are ready to pull try this Blackberry sauce recipe on them...

    1/2 tsp chilli powder
    1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
    11/4 cup blackberry jam
1/2 cup of chicken or vegetable broth
    1/2 cup sugar
    2 tbs butter

put al the ingredients except sugar and butter together and heat till blended. In a non stick pan put the sugar in and using medium heat stir constantly until melted. Once melted add the other mixture to the sugar. The sugar may clump together, just keep stirring till the sugar re-melts, use low heat. Once it has re-melted remove from heat and stir in the butter. It is Money. Try it.
