1st time smoking a pork butt tomorrow

My neighbor recommended that I set the grill temperature at 250 degrees and that I cook it 2 hours per pound. I have an 8lb bone in butt that I will be smoking, so by his recommendation it will take 16 hours. Does that seem about right? Thanks for the advices
