in Pork
My neighbor recommended that I set the grill temperature at 250 degrees and that I cook it 2 hours per pound.
I have an 8lb bone in butt that I will be smoking, so by his recommendation it will take 16 hours. Does that seem about right?
Thanks for the advices

What means do you have to monitor the temp?
I raise my kids, cook and golf. When work gets in the way I'm pissed, I'm pissed off 48 weeks a year.Inbetween Iowa and Colorado, not close to anything remotely entertaining outside of football season. -
I've got a digital Webster thermometer to monitor the internal heat of the meat.

Don't go by time. Cook to internal temp of the meat.

Check at 195. If probe goes in with no resistance (like buttah) then your done. If not check again at 200 and so on.

What does the temp of the meat need to be when it's done? I've heard between 190 and 200.

When the probe goes in with absolutely no resistance.

If the thermo moves in and out like butter, it's done. Somewhere between 190 and 200.deltasmoker84 said:What does the temp of the meat need to be when it's done? I've heard between 190 and 200.
