Notifications....

When you start a new discussion you can elect to get an instant email notification.. Is there an option to get email updates on discussions that you want to follow, but did not start?

Yes. Go into the notifications menu and select to have your bookmarked discussions notify you when someone posts on the thread you have bookmarked previously.

Obviously, you need to bookmark a discussion first. You do this by clicking the little start at the top right of the original post.

I had that set up and it clogged my email box. after quitting my job my emails went way down and then it wasn't too bad.
