Tandoori skewers are available for a decent price from nishienterprise.com. Look under tandoors, second page maybe. The square ones work best IMO. Disclaimer: I am not associated with them in any way.

tjv is right though - the top of the egg is too narrow to work like a tandoor. I tried it and it was like trying to thread a needle.

instead of thru the dome, maybe slightly shorter skewers and use the spider to balance them inside the egg, i think that would work better

@Richard_Fl : this thread had me thinking about your setup, so glad to see that you posted a link.

@fishlessman: that's not a bad idea, but those skewers would likely get quite hot if entirely inside the egg.
