New Egg & Basic Table
I just purchased my egg last week and over the weekend built the table using cedartone pressure treated lumber and a quartz top. To try it out I first grilled a chicken breast to top one of the 2 pizza's and they turned out spectacular. That being said...I had the bright idea to silicone caulk between the egg and the quartz top.. I am now second guessing my decision. It seemed to be okay even with temps up to 700 on my first cook, but don't know if there will be any long term issues down the road. The caulk only goes down about 1/4" on the 3/4" top, so there is some room for expansion. Please help! I would rather fix it now if it is going to possibly cause harm to the egg.

"even with temps up to 700 on my first cook". so how's that gasket. )

Gasket is perfect. I didn't keep it at 700 for very long. It just kind of got up there before I knew it.
