Have just bought a new medium egg, off a local tradeline show, This was new but didn't come with anything but the egg itself, would like to ask if there is an online manual or instructions that can be downloaded, or any type of help on using it.
Thanks
Denny

    Denny,
Dump in lump to top of fire box and you are good to go :>)[p]Temp adjustments made with lower vent and the top. You probably just have the rain cap (ceramic cover) so you will want a sliding top, the daisy wheel top, or the newer daisy wheel sliding top. I use a sliding top and have no problems with temp control.[p]For full blast steak searing temps no cap on the top at all and bottom vent all the way open. For lower temps I usually have a 1/4 inch or less open on the bottom and control temp with the slider cap on the top.[p]Lots of folks here to help out enjoy the cooker.[p]Dennis

    dhuffjr,
I actually leave the bottom open more and control the temp with the top, so that I can keep more of the smoke inside the cooker....

Master Mason,[p]Ironically, there are many that leave the cast iron top off when cooking and control temperature with the bottom vent only.

    Denny,
Welcome to the club! Where do you live? There may be one of us that lives near that may be able to help in a pinch. Another bit of advice would be to attend an Eggfest, where you can pick up invaluable tips & tricks.[p]Post here often and feel free to ask questions. There are several folks here to help you![p]Banker John

  • Banker John,
I'm 50 miles west of Atlanta, just off I-20. I have been a Bandera user for a few years now, so I thought I would try a BGE. After 2 attempts, burgers, and texas pork ribs I may go back to my bandera and sit back and study some of the post's here before I try the egg again.
