Table Pics Continued

Here are a few pics of my table. After seeing how hot the egg actually gets on the bottom, I designed a stand that helped bring the egg to the proper height in my table but also guaranteed no heat is getting transferred to the bottom of the table. So no fire hazard. I probably went a little overboard. But I sleep better at night. The stand is made out of cedar (like the table), then a layer of 2 inch concrete stone, then a layer of fire bricks. The stand allows for air to circulate under the concrete. Again, probably overboard. I tiled the top and used epoxy grout, which has a little flex (for heat expansion/contraction) and is stain resistant. Thanks for lookin.

+1 on the cleat. The only other thing is that the words overboard and green egg always go together. Just wait. Nice table.Green egg, dead animal and alcohol. The "Boro".. TN

Good thought. Cuz it is a big fall down the hill. Luckly I usually have the table far away from the edge. I just like having the lake in the background. But more importantly I need to put something up to keep my 16 month old son from jumping down the hill.

Why not a railing there?

I'm currently renting. But we are good friends with the land lord. We are going to put up a rail ASAP.

Looks like that' the right move. Nice looking table, i like the top.

Nice table. I know that's not Lanier, too much water. Which lake are you on?
-
It is a small lake in Greenville, SC. Stone Lake. But big enough to fish.

funny, I looked at the first pic and had a vision of a wheeled egg rolling down (in slow motion) into the lake. Read the comments and realized I wasn't the first with that thought.
I'd just nail a strip behind it and/or hook up a tether. If you don't have any drunk people, kids or big dogs, you'll be fine. Wait, does anyone fit that profile?! nawww.

+1 on a railing, the kid will survive, the egg will not

I'm jealous on so many levels. Assuming that picture is somewhat recent, not only are you only feet from the water, but you can actually float on it as opposed to walk on it. The current temp here is 6.
Nice set up, nice view.

Thanks for the comments. Now that I have the picture posting down, I will finally post some pics of food.
