Tri-tip to start 2013

Usually passing by the Prime Grade section of the meat counter is like passing through first class ... just keep moving along. But Sunday at Costco I found bulk packs of prime tri-tip for $4.49 per pound!
Bought one and put 6 roasts in the freezer and tonight one went on the egg. Raised, indirect at 320 grill / 350 dome until internal temp of 135. Pulled the stone and seared for 5 minutes on each side.
Served with salad and garlic and herb Hasselback potatoes. Great way to finish out the year.
