Two Board Related Questions

First question: is there a set of instructions somewhere on this site, for using the features of this board. While I like the features, I find the trial and error method of finding out how to use them very frustrating.

Second question: what is the proper way of using "@ referrals" when the person's user name has a space in it, such as say Village Idiot. I thought when I put the "_" character in to replace the space that that did the trick. Today however when I did just that it didn't work. So what is the proper way to refer to somebody whose name has a space in? BTW I was thinking: please don't use VI's name as an example when you are answering this question. Probably best to pick a random name so someone doesn't get a bunch of referrals.
