Wood of MY 2012 handle (and side tables) ?

I have a BGE L with the MY 2012 side tables. The wood of the side table is cedar but what is the wood of the handle ? Just curious also when I want to treat them.
btw I sanded the dark brown (stained) side tables and now they look much nicer. The cedar has such a nice grain !
