I have been asked several times how I start my charcoal using the Stoker.....it is key not to light a large fire....I light a small fire as shown in picture with the Stoker turned on and when I know a few pieces of charcoal are lit, I put in platesetter then close lid and let Egg reach set temp......works every time for me without ever having temp get too high http://i711.photobucket.com/albums/ww116/JohnPatterson/5b79d0772f3f9b5242a6464bdfc87ef7.jpg
