Great information on this site/forum but I cannot locate the information I need or want. Just got an XL egg and want to figure out what additional options to get or need or more of what and how to install them. Egg came with stainless grate. I purchased the 1/2 moon baking stone and a 1/2 cast iron grate. My purpose is to sear on the grate and keep warm or bake on the stone. I felt that this configuration will allow easy addition of charcoal. I did not get the plate setter because I assume I can not sear and grill with it in place. Are there any pictures or instructions on what parts are installed in what order to accomplish what the users wants to cook? I also read that I can install a plate setter on the fire box then the fire ring to cook a larger turkey, however this only works on the XL. I also saw a picture of the baking stone on top of the stainless grate.
Thanks
Dave

@MrDave welcome ,there are tons of things you can buy . doing a search on here will show lots of things . if you wanna do indirect cooking and smoking the place setter is invaluable for that and also baking . here's a few links that will helpLarge Big Green Egg , XL Big Green Egg . Without the Plate setter you really just have a grill, I think it is the #1 must have

Like bigphil said check out the CG Store for that Woo2 & the 17 inch stone and the $$ you save with that you should get the drip pan. I think that set up should work as a pate setter. Some of the other folks he will know for sure.

I use a plate setter all the time and would not want to be without it. Add that to your current gear and you are in good shape for a wide variety of cooks.
-
Correct, you can not sear and grill with plate setter in place. You simply remove the plate setter before searing and grilling.

Great stuff! Thanks. Woo2 seems like the way to go along with the spider and the 17 inch stone. Actually the dealer is giving me either the plate setter or it's value in other arrangements. Hence I picked the 1/2 moon baking stone and the Xl 1/2 cast iron grate. After reading the stuff about the Woo2 and spider I think I should get some other stuff instead. Like the smaller cast iron grate to fit the spider but not sure what other BGE stone . Please help. Thanks to all!

You have to have the place setter. When was the last time you did something for the first time? - Zick Boulder, CO

If you go the Woo2 & 17" stone route instead of a plate setter and want another BGE stone, I'd get a Large or XL stone for making pizza.
Not sure if you found the CGS Narratives site that shows the many setups: http://www.ceramicgrillstore.com/

To make it easier, buy another XL. You can use one for indirect, low and slow, or different temperature and at the same time you can use the other to sear, wok, or make pizza!!!!

You can find the warranty info here: http://www.biggreenegg.com/support/warranty/
