I just replaced my gasket with a new one.. acetone will work, just takes some patience and plan to go through a couple of razor blades.anyone have any tips on dome alignment after gastket replacement? in the front there is a 8th of an inch difference. i cant seem to get the top to sit flush...

I used acetone as well with good luck. Preceded by scraping off old gasket remnants using a paint scraper. It does not have to be perfect. Allow to dry for about 30 minutes or so. Keep your first couple of cooks under 450 to help set the new gasket.

Try scraping it off while it is still warm. The last one I did after a clean burn and the gasket came off and left almost no residue. I did use acetone in case there was any grease on the ceramics.

@AFEGG, check out TastyLicks BBQ on YouTube. If you watch their gasket replacement videos, they show you how to adjust your dome.
