I did one for the first time for supper tonight also. I threw in some apple chunks in the coals and rubbed it down with my smoker rub. Tasted just like it came out of my smoker but only took an hour vs four in the smoker.
I do like the idea of skin down for a crispy skin, I will have to borrow that idea next time.....

I did my first one the other day as well did the raised grid (i used the little green feet to raise the grid ) i did it at 375 dome and did not flip at all i took the skin off the breast and left the skin on the rest of the chicken turned out great and the wife and kids loved it was very easy to do. you can see a small piece missing wife wife got to the bird before i was able to get the picture
