Spatch Chicken w/ Photos

Here are a few photos of a Spatch Chicken I did today. I got this recipe from Naked Wiz and it is basically 375 direct for one hour or so depending on the size of the chicken using a raised grid. Perfect every time!
Here is the before photo. Coated w/ EVOO and Kickin' Chicken Rub!
I used 3 small landscaping bricks to raise the grid about 4"
Still going throughout a thunderstorm!
Finished Product with a little BBQ Sauce added!
This is what I use to keep the pounds under control :-)

Nice pic of the bricks, thanks I wondered how people were getting the bricks to raise the grid. Chicken looks great too! When did you put the BBQ sauce on? Also how much do you ride?
-
Hi Lizzie! I put the BBQ Sauce on about 5 -10 minutes before I pulled it.
I'm consistently averaging 90+ miles per week over 4 days. I rode a 100k (64mi) this past Saturday and that gave me 124mi or so for the week but I don't usually get over 100mi each week.

I use bricks too...works great. Why pay more for something that is free and works just fine.

Wow great for you, I hope to be a cyclist soon, just the road bike purchase is steep! I guess kinda like the egg. I have a cannondale, hybrid, its very nice, but can't do the distance anywhere near a road bike!

Nice bike. Egging and Biking, two expensive hobbies but both are lots of fun. I guess you can set long and slow in the morning, go for a long ride and come home to a good lunch.Cheers

I like that bike! That is also my thing egging and riding a few hundred miles a week.

Stupid quesiton for a newbie like me, but what kind of bricks are those? Did you have to break them in half?
