Vinyl caps melting to Egg

I wasn't able to find this anywhere else in the forums, so I apologize if this has already been asked, but does anyone else have a nest that came with vinyl caps for the upper risers? Not sure why I didn't think of this before, but they have melted to the Egg. Other than cosmetic, are there any issues with this I should be concerned about?
Thanks

Really? My nest has the covers on the upper part & I have had no problems all with mine. What temps were you at that this happened?

My XL didnt come with the caps, and i have lost the caps from one my large loading and unloading at competitions. I have not had any problems with not have them.

Mine are melted too, but I just dont want to mess with them. I will let them be!FelipeMen, easier fed than understood!!

Mine are melted as well. Getting ready to put the egg in a table so I don't know how hard it is going to be to get the egg out of the nest. Guess I will cut away as much of it as I can be for trying to remove the egg from the nest.

I just melted mine tonight. I really should have known better than to put them on there in the first place.XL BGE

Mine are also melted. I am not really happy about it as I will be going to a table shortly. Anyone have any luck washing the stuff off?
-
I will have to look at mine. It will be coming out of the nest and into a kitchen in about 1-2 weeks. I hope they are not melted. Maybe goo-gone would work???

If I wanted to get the melted rubber off of there I'd hit it with a mapp torch until it was liquid enough to wipe off with a rag.XL BGE

I like that. Tried to pull them out but it's too late for me -
Getting ready to put the Egg in a table myself and still haven't seen anything on getting the melted caps off. Well, the torch idea seems logical, but can that hurt the integrity of the outside of the Egg?

Mine are melted too but I was surprised to find out that they are not stuck to the Egg. I checked my large and small.
I don't think you will have any problems with them.XL,L,SWinston-Salem, NC -
The only nest I have with the rubber caps is for my small. They melted on my first or second steak cook.Mike
I'm ashamed what I did for a Klondike Bar!!
