Wow the vent opening on my small egg is tiny. The vent opening is only 2" long by 1" high. Don't think a regular size ash tool would fit into the opening. What do you all use??

Yes there is but I don't recommend it as it is so small it doesn't pull much ash out.  I find it easier to clean the Egg out from the top the day after a cook.

I would also recommend using a shop vac or just clean the egg out from the top.

I don't use an ash tool on my small. Seems like a waste to buy that.

+3 on shop Vac. I have a 2.5 gallon Vac that is easy to tote around.

I used a couple of old tools LawnRanger made me and remade after going to High Que's and not needing what they were made for. You can use any rod and a couple of angles from Lowes. These are made for the Large and the Mini.

Thank you everyone. Shop Vac sounds like the easiest, for when I am at home. When camping I will clean from the top. Cheers.

  • SS,

Or you could just bend a piece of 3/4" steel bar.
