Attended first KCBS event today as a spectator - quite a scene

This years Rhode Island Balloon Festival in Kingston, RI was the scene of the State's first official State BBQ Championship. 42 Teams participated. I've never been to a competition, so was not sure what to expect. It turned out to be alot of fun. Talked to a number of teams, including one of the Lilly brothers and the producer of BBQ Pitmasters (Big Bob Gibson team) . All of the folks were extremely nice...and damn the food smelled awesome! There was at least one BGE team, 'Yabba Dabba Que', and they cooked for visitors yesterday for 7 hrs straight with the help of the guys from Jerry's Hardware...one of (if not the) biggest BGE dealers in our little state. I was so focused on all of the interesting smoking equipment, I'm afraid I failed to get any pics... Will definitely look to attend future competitions. Lots of fun! Can't imagine how much fun an EggFest must be!!! Tom
