Just curious if anyone uses a set up like this to wok? I want to get into it but was kinda thinking of having a separate thing and not doing it on the egg.

curious as to why you wouldn't want to use the egg?

Large and Small BGE -
@bvc
Would rather use gas than coal._______________________________________________XLBGE -
i would get more btu's but more importantly its the cook top, if you can find one thats flat its more practical for other types of cooks like a big boil or for use with a huge castiron frypan etc, can be used for turkey frying and so forth. the one i have came from an old propane smoker. this ones too low for wok cooking but maybe you could raise it up on a shelf, i only posted this one to show the top, i cant really see how the one you posted looks on top

@fishlesman
That's exactly what I wanted!! I want to e able to put a big boiler pot or fry pot on it but also wanna wok with it.
Guess I should have said so the first time.
What kinda btus should I look for?_______________________________________________XLBGE -
That is a great set-up if you have multiple uses for the burner, fried turkey, BIG pots gumbo etc.
IMHO 18" wok is a little overkill unless you have a big group. 14"-16" works well for most non-commercial environments.
After wokking on large and small BGE for several years I came across this in an Oriental store a while back. meets my needs and only cost $28 plus 2 trips 150 miles round trip to get it. First trip saw it and hesitated 2 days later went back and got it. Lets see-- 300 miles 28 miles per gallon. Gas costs $43+ $28=$71. A great product for my usage, 2-3 times a week.

I was looking for that thing online earlier.
My wife actually wants a big stew/gumbo pot so maybe I can find something that will wok and put buying it off on her_______________________________________________XLBGE -
