21" Hole Measurement and Hinge Clearance

Almoast done. I haven't assembled my egg yet (large). It doesn't have feet. I thought they came with the little green feet?

I cut the 21" hole with a router. The hole is vety clean. By sight it looks perfect. Front to beck measures 20 7/8". Left to right measures 21". Some of my diagnals are off about 1/8 ". No one can tell by sight... it looks perfect. The egg fits even without the feet. It is a bit snug. Should there be a minimum gap or am I good to go?

Also...  I have 15 inch clearance from the top of the shelf base to the top of the table
base. My fire brick adds about 1/4"giving me a total gap of 143/4 ". I have a new spring hinge egg. I don't have the little green feet yet and that will add a little more as well. Will this be sufficiant clearance for my hinge assembly without adding another 2" paver?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Ryan

Look up the BGE table plans on their website - they have a table top/shelf measurement that gives you ample room for the brick on the bottom plus will clear the hinges.

As far as the clearance between the egg and the hole in the top, you want an air gap around the egg otherwise you'll char the wood top and possibly set it on fire, that is, unless you're never cooking above 451 Fahrenheit.  Again, there's a spec for each egg in those plans.

    Good luck!
