Need Chicken Rub Recommendation
I received a jar of John Henry's "Texas Chicken Tickler" for Christmas and I have been using it on whole chickens and wings. I'm about to order some more and thought I would see if anyone has a rub for chicken they like.

I like the Mediterranean roastng rub from wholespice.com. It is not a "traditional" BBQ rub but I really like it on chicken and lamb.

Get John Henrys Pecan Rub - outstanding. Used it for years.
Also like coffee rub on chicken/turkey and one more would be Butt Rub.
Salado TX & 30A FL: Egg Family: 3 Large and a very well used Mini, added a Mini Max when they came out (I'm good for now). -
I like making "poultry perfect rub" from the book Smoke and Spice. It's easy to make and adapt to your own tastes.
For commercial rubs, I like Drapers A.P. rub.

+1 for the "Smoke and Spice" rub recipes. I use willy's number one for lots of cooks. Great book for those who want recipes and Q insights. There are lots more out there...Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.

I have this book on my desk. I love the "Wild Willys Rub" on brisket so maybe I should try making some of this.
Thanks.

I still like the BGE Sweet Maple seasoning on chicken. It's pretty sweet, but that's something I like in a chicken rub.

We really like the African Peri Peri Rub With Love by Tom Douglas:
http://www.pacificnorthwestshop.com/products/african-peri-peri-rub-with-love-by-tom-douglas-3-5-oz.html
Interestingly, we also tried their chicken rub (obviously made just for chicken), and didn't care for it as much - seemed kinda bland when compared to the Peri Peri rub.
Don't get set into one form, adapt it and build your own, and let it grow, be like water. Empty your mind, be formless, shapeless — like water. Now you put water in a cup, it becomes the cup... Now water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend. - Bruce Lee -
I have been using Dr BBQ's big time rub and really like it. Here is a link to the recipe: http://drbbq.com/drbbqfavoriterecipe.phpEdina, MN
