Just wanted to say hello from the Raleigh, NC area. I have had my Large BGE for about a month now and have been lurking on the forum for a while and decided to get an account. I want to thank you folks for all of the wonderful information you have posted on here as it has been very helpful in my adventures. My learning curve has been much less steep thanks to the information I've found here. Already done pork butt which was great, brisket (needs work), burgers, chicken breasts, steaks, ribs, pizza, pineapples, and smores. Needless to say I have been using it a lot since my purchase. The best thing is even when things don't turn out exactly right they still aren't that bad. I would also like to thank you all for turning me on to Dizzy Pig. I just received an order from them and I am very pleased.

Congrats on the Lg BGE, sounds like your off to a great start.  When your ready for something new check out VI 's posts on wok cooking (he's the king of the wok).  Hard to beat stir-fry on the egg.

I have seen some of his wok cooks on here and it certainly looks like something worth trying.

Where in Raleigh are you located? I'm heading to Dizzyfest this weekend and will be picking up my large demo egg after the event. I'm in Cary/Raleigh as well.

Rolesville here. Just outside of Raleigh. I saw that Dizzyfest on their website but I am unable to make it. Too bad there aren't any Eggfests in Raleigh. I am surprised. Hear that Raleigh Egg dealers? You will be happy when you get your egg.

Not a single dealer in the area was willing to cut me a deal, so I had to go and get the closest demo unit available :) . Only "deal" available was BJ's and I wasnt going to go that route over all the warranty concerns. Very surprising. My friend in Texas can get the same deal on a brand new egg that I am paying for my demo unit. Must just be a ton of competition in the Austin area...

Different prices for different regions.. I was quoted $100 less on my medium and it was because dealer gave me the Texas price. Lol. They honored the price though.

Hi guys, I'm new here too in Holden Beach, NC. Found that BGE in Wilmington was $200 cheaper than Shallotte. I've had mine just a few months but already an addict. What a great ( or grate?) performer.

So BGE sets the prices regionally for all its dealers? Or how does that work? Not that it matters now since I am locked in for my demo egg but would be nice to know to share with friends.

Welcome aboard from another NC Egger. We have an Eggfest coming up here in Winston-Salem in August.

I couldn't get a deal either. I just bit the bullet. They wouldn't even throw in a bag of lump. There are several dealers in the Raleigh area too so you would think they would be more competitive. I have read about a lot better deals that folks have gotten on here. Oh well, just glad to be an egger. It is good that you are going to pick one up at the eggfest.

I am considering checking out the one in Winston-Salem. Are you going to cook at it Hi54putty?

I live in Winston-Salem and the dealer hosting the eggfest is GREAT.  They match prices if you find a lower price plus a small additional discount and have good customer service.  The eggfest demo grills they will use look like a good price to me for a small amount of use.
