Thermapen

So my thermapen continues to increase in temp when I stick it in my cook - continues for about 7-10 seconds or so. The pen is still when I do this. Is there something wrong or is his normal? Thought was supposed to be 3 seconds? In he end it gives me good reading which is all that matters...just didn't know I this happens to anyone else?

It takes a while if there is a major difference in the probe and meat temp. The first bit is fast but it takes some time to zero in.
