I have a new LBGE....used it three times now.  How can I tell if my gasket has fully cured and seated?  I'd like to sear some steaks soon.

Reality-the original will fail at some point in life (sooner than later) so when it does contact the BGE HQ and they will send you a nomex replacement gratis.  But that will eventually go south as well.  So, don't worry about the gasket-and if you sear with the dome open then the gasket will not see the high heat.  Check out the below site for lots of good ceramic cooking info and the recipe section for a few ways to cook steaks.

Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win.  Life is too short for light/lite beer!  Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.
