Seems I've been taking pics of cooks lately, but haven't really been doing anything with them, so I thought I'd share one with you today. Might be a few days late for National Hamburger Day (May 28th) but better late than never.

Sometime last week, I think, we decided to try and get creative with some burgers. Mrs. G went with a Mushroom Swiss Burger and I tried to come up with a Texadelphia burger (which was an epic fail on my part) We used up the last of our chuck/short rib grind (time to make some more).

Think Mrs. G might have gone overboard with some of the toppings.

My Epic Failure of a burger had onions, shrooms, roasted jalapenos and Cheez-Whiz. Yeah...I think it was the Cheez-Whiz. That stuff is nasty gross.

What was interesting is that the burgers had a reddish tint from the cherry wood that was left over from the ribs I did a few days earlier. Thought that was interesting and unexpected (as I wasn't even thinking about it)

Next time try homemade cheese wiz.  It is really easy, milk/heavy cream, flour, cheese and S&P.  I make homemade cheese wiz when i make cheese steaks.  Its greay, plus you can create whatever flavors you want by changing up the cheese, or adding additional flavors.
