Removing dome lid for travel

Hey guys. Going camping this weekend. I want to take my LBGE. I do not have a truck, just my trusty Civic :)

I do not have the white plastic clips that retained the pressure from the spring hinge. How to I take the dome off?

Also, I think if the dome is off I can get it in my civic trunk... Or at least back seat.

Not going to be insulted, has anyone done this or have ANY "LOGICAL" input.

Lay it down, tied shut. Guts elsewhere, but stuff your bag of lump in it to save space

i dont have the clips, but its really easy to remove the springs if you do it with the dome open. screwdriver or pliers under the top hoop of the spring and a simple pry them off
