Just took possession of a Thermapen.  Anything I should know that is not covered by the instructions?

XXL #82 out of the first 100, XLGE X 2, LBGE (gave this one to daughter 1.0) , MBGE (now in the hands of iloveagoodyoke daughter 2.0) and lots of toys

    yes.  although it is perfectly calibrated for such use, due to the extremely pointed end, one should not consider using it as a rectal thermometer

    Thanks for the :-) tip, Stike.  My oncologist says I shouldn't use anything that way.
