My last name is Willson, with two "L"s, so my brand when I raised cattle was "2L".  I had a steak brand made of it.

Steak with overcooked baked french fries and baked beans.  Cuba Libre is not visible in the picture.

lol.  Yes, ketchup for the french fries.  Thanks Joan.

Love the mini.  It's paid for itself in charcoal, I think.

    Pezking,

I had to look on the bottom of the glass, but it does say Tervis Tumbler.  I like the one with the state of Texas outline with the flag colors on it.  Makes my Cuba Libres taste so much better.

Too funny!! Did you cut those yourself or buy them that way?

Tervis Tumbler are great, especially in texas. I've got 3....a Baylor one, a Texas Flag and a Don't Mess with Texas. My wife has her UT one (we are a house divided) and a S for Stacie.

Tervis are great.  We love them on boats because they are sturdy, float, and don't break like glass.

I can't imagine all the difference designs they have to put inside the cups.  Must have thousands.

I did a 4 year stretch in Lubbock, can't say I have too many happy memories of Texas :P  Except maybe hunting rattle snakes at boy scout camp B-)

I knew a guy who lived in Lubbock and he told me he watched his dog run away for 3 days :))

I will go easy on your Gary. Nice cook but what the hell did you do with all the steak that did not look like texas? Say the Okla, NM, Ark, Louisiana parts............
Salado TX & 30A  FL: Egg Family: 3 Large and a very well used Mini, added a Mini Max when they came out (I'm good for now). Just given a Mini to add to the herd.

Good catch, Mickey.  It's in the fridge.  I don't like to have beef two days in a row, so I'll probably make hash from the other states tomorrow.

Gary, those are nice looking ristras.  The peppers from your garden? New Mexico Reds or a mix?

Ah, you know the word, "ristra".  That is a spanish word meaning "string".  Ask any of your Spanish speaking friends if they know the word.  None of them will.

I get my ristras from Hatch Chile Express in Hatch, NM.  They are treated, so they're not for eating.  I get some every year.

Good point.  But, with the humidity in Houston, non treated ristras would last about a month before getting all moldy.  The treated ones last a year.  Also, since I can get Mexican chiles at about 5 stores within 2 miles of me, I use them for all my cooking.  I used to order frozen Hatch chiles for cooking (and I still have some), but they have gotten sooooo expensive over the past few years, I quit using them.  I still use them for making stacked chicken green enchiladas I learned how to make in Taos, NM years ago.
