automatic temperature control

I am wanting to get a temp controller for my XL egg. I don't know much about them. I have 1 Xl egg. I just want to control the temp of the pit and internal temp of the meat. I have a remote pit and meat thermometer. Do the contollers have remote readers or do I have to be at the grill to read them? Any advice would be appreciated.

i have a digi q does hot have a remote reader have to go to egg to read. what i have seen posted here the stoker has the abilty to post to computer
-
Don't have one, but yes, stoker can go to computer via wifi and also has stokemaster app for iPhone for remote monitoring (and controlling I believe).
-
I use a Stoker for temp control only, no meat probe, I use my Maverick for meat temp.

Stoker and BBQ Guru both make great units. Check out Naked Whiz's site at www.nakedwhiz.com. There are great reviews of both products there.

The stoker will do what you are asking but it's pricey. I've heard rumors that BBQ guru is coming out with a wifi controller any day now. I'm holding out for that one since I already have the probes/fan with my digi Q.

BBQ GURU here and I highly recommend it

Have had my stoker for a couple weeks now. Smoked a turkey with it and all I can say is awesome. I can run it without the temp controller but it certainly makes life easier not to mention the web interface. The stoker will tweet updates to your phone if that's your thing. The stoker was extremely pricey, but well worth it in my opinion.

Ok, Stoker or BBQguru. Does BGE sell these or do you buy them elsewhere.

Has anyone seen any posts on the Party Q? I just ordered one, should arrive by Tuesday.

I have read a bit about them. They look pretty good for the price. The only comments I have heard about them is to use rechargeable batteries and start your cooks with a fresh set.Has anyone seen any posts on the Party Q? I just ordered one, should arrive by Tuesday.

Just put on some venison and pork loin using my Stokers. Here is my computer screen.

Being the techie that I am, i'm in love!!! Awesome! Is your Stoker kit on a large?Just a hack that makes some $hitty BBQ....

Yes. 5 CFM fan. You can see where I lit my egg, bumped from 350° to 375°and opened the lid to stir the coals, then when I added the meat and plugged in the meat probes. The boxie up and down lines at the bottom is when the fan is running. I also have Excel plot all temps every 2 minutes.

Go boys, get high tech. There's no reason a machine can't help something that is great but make it greater...
The more gadgets you have the better your life will be! I have so many I can't count. But the DigiQ is great and I am looking real hard at that Stoker.
