Small Egg / Weber Kettle Table Idea - Any Experience?

I am in the process of drawing up plans for a dual grill table that would hold my small egg on the right and a 22" Weber One Touch Gold on the other.  I will be modifying the legs of the Weber to make this possible.  

My question is if any here have done or seen something similar, and what kind of heat shielding was used around the Weber hole in the table?
