sifting lump

So I had this sifter made with 1/2" hardware cloth and used it to sift a bag of lump. What a lot of dust and junk! Does anyone else sift their lump?
My actuary says I'm dead.

Sifting is way too much work. The small pieces burn just fine. The dust can be a problem, but I'm careful when dumping a bag into the BGE and only let a little dust go on the top of the charcoal. It burns off quickly when the fire gets going.
