They say you ride a good horse to death and i'm riding real hard with my BGE. The firebox is cracked to the point i'm afraid it will come apart, and i've heard it's pretty common, BGE recommends just repairing, it's not a big deal. Anybody recommend what  to use? The only ahhesives i've seen are only rated to 325F. Do i need fireplace morter or do i need to buy a new one?  Thank you eggheads.

You can still use it. Mine is in several pieces and it's like putting a jig-saw puzzle back together if I ever have need to remove it. Are you the original owner? This is a warranty item if you are and have registered your egg. If you want to do a repair you can use JB-Weld.

My firebox has been like this (actually in four pieces now) for 10 years and I still use it:

You can also get a replacement under warranty.  I've had my replacement sitting in the garage, also for 10 years.  Good luck!

@ NakedWhiz  That's funny ... why wouldn't you enjoy the new one and put those broken pieces away as a spare?
