Beautiful......Beautiful. Very creative. All your hard work has paid off.

Really nice, looks great. What is that under the egg, white tile? And what about the concrete table, did you pour that?Packerland, Wisconsin
-
Thanks. I used fire brick under the egg. I got that idea from the Naked Whiz website. After reviewing that site, I highly recommend the fire brick. I had a local concrete company pour the concrete countertop to get the exact color I wanted.

That's one of the nicest tables I've seen. Well thought out. Beautiful stone work, as well........
-
Very nice indeed!
Shouldn't there be air space between the table and the egg though?
-
Jasper, I originally thought so as well. I've researched that on this forum and the Naked Whiz website. The XL egg does not come with feet and from what I've seen it's not recommended to use the feet with the XL. That's another reason I went with fire brick instead of a concrete pavestone. That's also why I left space between the studs under the fire brick.

Absolutely incredible table. I think you have inspired me to build a similar one. I have a few questions for you.
Did you build any wheels underneath, or is it going to stay fixed in place? Based on the weight, do you think that wheels would handle the size?
Do you have any plans or cheat sheets that you used that I may be able to see? Even a few more pictures of work in process would be great!
Did you consider any hooks or bottle openers in your design? It seems like these could probably be added on the right.
Does this give you the storage capacity you need to hold your tools between grilling?
Kudos on building an incredible table! -
maxPowers, thanks for the comments!I did not build it with wheels, mainly because I was concerned about the weight. My estimation on the weight is 50 lb for the frame, 200 lb for the stone and 250 lb for the concrete countertop. This table is going nowhere!I have my initial blueprint that I drew up, but it was a work in progress and I had to deviate from that as the project progressed. I have several more pictures of the progress as well. I'd be happy to email all the pics and a pic of the blueprint if you give me your email (I'd rather not clutter this post with all the pics). I'm sure you could delete your post giving me your email (after I get it) if you don't want it out there. I'm new to this forum but it may be that you could alternately inbox me your email address.I did consider hooks but since my original egg had the nest and shelves, I just left one shelf on so I could use the hooks on that. I don't specifically have any hooks or bottle openers. The storage shelf opening is probably about 12 in x 20 in. The depth is probably 30 inches, so it can store some tools. I have the table next to my garage and I have a rack in there to hang all my tools so I really don't use the storage shelf.Good Luck and I'll be more than happy to share any info, anytime

Thanks mtcecil. I just sent you my email address. I look forward to seeing some more pictures.
Do you have a cover for the table, or is it covered in any way? -
Friggin awesome!! Come build me one. I will pay in beer and food!thebearditspeaks.com. Go there. I write it.

maxPowers, I checked my inbox and I don't have anything, can you try to send it again.I originally bought the XL table cover and that's what I based my plans on. However, with my adjustments I made as it went along, it doesn't fit very well. It covers the egg and the concrete but it doesn't go all the way to the ground. I know most don't cover the egg but I'm keeping it covered.paulheels, It was fun to build but you couldn't buy enough beer and ribeyes to do it again

mtcecil,
Can you open your lid all the way without it hitting the wall behind it? I am thinking of mounting mine in a spot that already has a built in grill and hood, but I wont be able to open the lid all the way.
