AmyNC
Posts: 4
I just purchased my BGE and have used it almost daily. But today, being Thanksgiving, is my 1st turkey.
Any final advice would be appreciated before I get this party started...
8 lb tukey
cooking time? temp?
Using platesetter....in pan or directly on grate with a drip pan?
Happy Thanksgiving!

I just put mine on the grill, platesetter legs up with a drip pan on the feet, 15 pound turkey spatchcocked on the grill grate. Roasting at 400. Will pull at 165.DavidBBQ since 2010 - Oh my, what I was missing.

Thanks for the advice! My husband may disagree...but, I'm sure I've never spatchcocked anything in my life. I'll try that next year.

An 8 lber ... that use to be a good size chicken ... LOL!
Seriously ... 350º to 400º will get you there quick ... 160º in the breast and 180º in the thigh ...
Happy Turkey day!
Never eat anything passed through a window unless you're a seagull ... BGE Lg.
