Squeezy's Spicy BBQ Beans

Ingredients

  • 2 small cans Bush beans
  • ½ onion diced
  • ½ green or red pepper diced
  • 2 Jalapeño chilis sliced with seeds or not
  • 1 small Mango cubed
  • brown sugar and/or maple syrup to taste
  • 3 tbsp molasses
  • 1 tsp Keene's dry mustard or your favorite
  • ½ cup BBQ sauce
  • 4-5 rashers of bacon cut into 1"pieces
  • I oz of whisky, rum, bourbon etc. your choice
  • salt & fresh ground pepper to taste

 

Instructions

Sauté bacon until almost crisp, then add onions, peppers and jalapeños until tender.

In a 9"x9" aluminum pan mix all other ingredients and add contents of sautè pan mixing well.

Set BGE to 250º direct or indirect, cooking for about 3 hrs. stirring once each hour.

If beans get too dry, add a splash of beer or water.

    Everyone else uses pineapple ... over used IMHO.

    I also use fresh diced peaches in season, but I like the mango best!
