The Naked Whiz -
The Naked Whiz,I apologize if my post violates any rules. I was really just trying to generate some feedback on side shelves I designed for my own Large Green Egg and wanted thoughts from more "experienced" users. I do feel as though these are wonderful grills but enjoy custom wood working and wanted to solicit some more creative ideas or suggestions on how to make them even better...In future posts I will remove the hyperlinkThank you for your feedback

Hi SRQWW, I like the proportions and the curves look nice too. Can you post a pic with the shelves in the down position? I was thinking how nice it would be to have unfinished teak. That way it would develop its patina as it is exposed to the elements over time. Just some thoughts.XL 2010 w/ Self-made hardwood lump charcoal

I think those look amazing but (depending on the wood selected) are pricey. Seems like they're 1/2 the cost of building a table...still...it'd be dang hard to say no to. Beautiful shelves. Do they fold like the eggmates?

looks like dumbo. No offense looks like elephant ears on it : )
-
very nice looking. Is that an oil finish or urethane? I'd be worried about food spills on such a nice piece of wood.
I had a bit of the Dumbo reaction too, but it maybe from the height the picture was taken. Some nice half moons would be a good design to consider.
