WHEN YOU PUT YOUR HOT CHARCOAL IN THE BGE DO YOU LEAVE THE LID UP FOR A FEW MINUTES,WHEN I CLOSE MY LID IT SHOWES ONLY 225 DEGREES AND IVE GOT ENOUGH CHARCAOL IN IT,MY VENTS ARE FULLY OPEN,HAVE I GOT A FAULTY TEMP GAUGE?

    The ceramics probably absorb a lot of the initial heat so it probably take a little longer to show a higher temp than a metal pot would.  For what it is worth it is the same with mine about 10 to 15 minutes before it shows more than 300ºF.
