Dang flies!!!

Just a quick simple question; how in the heck are you guys keeping the flies away from your BGE during and after cooks. I'm having problems also with the flies coming inside due to the multiple opening and closing of the back door during my cooks. I have tried candles but they just done cut it, any help will be greatly appreciated.

I just stack the dead bodies on the other side of the property.  (Sorry.  It's October.  Poor attempt at gallows humor...)

I love the flies. The ones that get in keep the cats distracted while I am going in and out so the cats don't try to get out.

Maybe put a plate with some hamburger scraps on it.  Then place the hose of your shop vac pointing at the plate.  They come over to take a look and SUCK in they go!  (Haven't tried it myself, though....)

Some people swear by hanging a bag of water. Never tried it personally...

I see that there is a post on the bag of water with a penny or 2 or 3 in it. Try it. Can`t explain it, but it does help repel flies a lot.

Spring Chicken

My grandmother tied a white cotton ball to the screen door on her back porch.  Seemed to work.  She said the white ball mesmerized the flies as the door opened and closed. 

A few ice houses (open air beer & burger joints) here in the Houston area use the bags of water and swear by it but I've seen flies in their restaurants that seem to ignore them.

My Chicken Coop is open and I sometimes have one or two flies which I quickly dispatch to the promised land with my 79¢ fly swatter.  Then I'm done with them.

Get an electronic Fly Swatter. They sell them at Harbor Freight tools for under $5. After you zap a few of them, the other flies will get the message. Plus, it's fun too.
