There has to be a way to post the inline photos, I've seen it done. I just can't seem to figure it out at the moment. Sure would be nice if there were a "how to" section, huh?

then, when it doesn't work, you hit 'edit', and try again. delete the extra "http:/" before pasting the same PB link

There are two small icons over the right in the message window. One is "Insert Image" and the other is "Insert Hyperlink". Choose which one you want and it should work.
