cottage style table - direct from the alps in Austria

Hello everybody,
I just finished my cottage style table and I am proud to spread my eggsperiences here in Austria / Europe from the heart of the alps.
What you see here is a self made concrete work plate on top of a formwork panel body. Due to the weather conditions here I needed very resistant material and the formwork panel does perfectly meet these demands. The cabinet is planked with about 40 year old larch front planks, which I got from an old cottage. Larch is an ideal wood for outside use and therefore was my choice. I brushed these planks to give them this rustic appeareance and fastened them with little nails without heads to the body - they should not be "visible".
On the surface of the concrete work plate you see my nickname "BBQ Burnt". To do that I cut the character out of a plastic foil and placed it on the surface of the formwork, before I filled it with the liquid concrete. After the concrete cured I refinished the writing by giving it a more craggy surface - I did that with a hammer and a little scredriver. At the end I hydrophobized the workplate to make it water-repellant.
I hope you like it and I am more than happy to contribute to this forum.
Best wishes from over the lake.

Very nice table. It looks very sturdy and like it will withstand the elements. Beautiful countryside too."Pork so tender you can pull it with a spoon." ~Spoon
