First Spatchcock Chicken

I did my first Spatchcock chicken today, and it was awesome, thanks to good advice from this forum, especially The Naked Whiz. It went on at 350, cooked to 180 in the thigh....perfection. The beer butt days are definitely gone! I would post pics, but haven't mastered the art of posting pics from my iPad. I've had my XL for two months, and can't say enough about how wonderful it is. Life is good!

Thanks Tweev. Spatchcock a turkey? Hmmmmm.....now that is a great idea. I might have to do a pre-thanksgiving cook for a test run. If it works as well as the chicken, I will certainly be a fan. I'll keep you posted.
Happy Sunday to all!

Spatchcock Turkey it fantastic! You can still stuff the bird, you just add the stuffing under the skin. Here is a photo of one I did last year...It comes out very moist and delicious.DavidBBQ since 2010 - Oh my, what I was missing.
