Must admit, they're not the healthiest part of the yardbird, but are the tastiest!
The flats are my favorite part ....

At least we are grilling them instead of frying. That is what I keep telling myself.Joe - I'm a reformed gasser-holic aka 4Runner Columbia, SC Wonderful BGE Resource Site: http://www.nakedwhiz.com/ceramicfaq.htm and http://www.nibblemethis.com/ and http://playingwithfireandsmoke.blogspot.com/2006/02/recipes.html

Dial the temp down to 225º and you have true BBQ'd wings ... only differnce is more smoke taste and chewier skin, but it's all good ... ~:>
... and you're right ... grilling is better health wise ... but who eats wings and worries about that?

Great looking wings!
I do mine indirect at 400 degrees for an hour. Believe it or not, the skin gets crispy and they get perfectly done. The advantage I see to indirect is you don't have to pay any attention to them! I flipped them once after about 35 minutes and I probably wouldn't have even had to flip them at all.

I intend to try that method next time ... I like to mix it up! Yes, with indirect flipping is optional, but why not?I may try a frozen bruschetta today, it's a Dr. Oetker Panabella with a baker's crust. Will add some mozarella and home grown tomatos on it ...

Looks great. Go to one of the big box stores and buy a couple wing racks. They are great and you never have to flip or even touch them. I do mine indirect @350 for about 1 1/2 hours. Come out perfect every time.

Have never seen them here in Canada, actually I don't mind flipping them. I suppose if I needed to do a large quantity, that would be useful. Don't believe I've ever seen one. Seen a drumstick rack before though ...Never eat anything passed through a window unless you're a seagull ... BGE Lg.

I'm in Woodstock, On
I did a little search after the comment and I'm not much interested in them. Most doubled as a drumstick or wing holder. It is unreal the number of cooking utensils and such that I've bought and have never used ... LOL!
I have an ABT holder, that I'm sure I'll never use because I prefer to split the jalapeños vertical, stuff the halves and wrap each with just ½ a strip of bacon. Easier to make and eat! Looks cool though with the holders...

The wing rack is the same as the drumstick rack. I have 2 of them and could do 30 wings at one time. Makes it easy plus they don't burn.

What temp. and is it direct or indirect heat?

I guess I need to scroll back and read the original posts ... definitely an echo!
Maybe I'll try it if I run into any of those racks ...
