How to mark thread "read" without looking at it?

Is there any way to mark a thread "read" (to clear all the "new" post listings) without actually looking at the contents of the thread?

I don't believe so. I've already asked for that feature. It would be nice to be able to read all the posts in the list that interest you and then click on a "mark all threads read" button.

And have a icon of some sort at the top of the thread indicating pictures w/in (for those of us that like to sight-see).

I agree, I get kinda tired of those yellow boxes. Especially if its a topic I'm not interested in.
