I think signatures are typical of just about every forum I frequent....BGE related or not.  I would hope signatures would be added and if somone wants to have a link to his/her site as part of that signature, that s/b fine too.  I think the point of no spamming and self promoting is aimed to prevent someone starting a new thread promoting their stuff: "Hey, come buy my stuff here: www......"  That is what we don't need...although I simply ignore those type of posts.  Anyway, in my opinion, signatures s/b part of the forum and links to blogs/sites/services should be accepted.  My .$.02.

VI - It could be some sort of automated process that runs to clear out links?   Interesting.  Fingers crossed common sense prevails.

Thanks 4 Runner...I'm not gonna quit whining about it...my site is TOTALLY dedicated to BGE...and contains more pictures and often more details about my cooks and recipies that some might enjoy (and many have)...everyone can choose to ignore it and the administratores can sniff through them and block anything that is a true redirect or link to retail things...

Since we put a man on the moon 42 years ago, I find it a bit odd that we would be typing our signature lines in on every post.  Even cutting and pasting seems like pre-Sputnik.
