want to be a egger,
Platesetter and ash tool are two things that you almost can't do without.
Congratulations and welcome to the forum. You will probably never use your oven again. Let us know about your first cook.

want to be a egger,
Oh, the list goes on and on. I'll suggest a Lodge dutch oven. Heavy duty leather welding gloves. Two remote temperature meat probes. A BGE pizza stone. The best BBQ tools you can find- tongs, flipper, fork and sauce brush- (silicone).
Order up a selection of spices. Go to www.dizzypigbbq.com

want to be a egger, At a bare minimum I would recommend a grate lifter, an ash tool and a plate setter. I went without a grate lifter for several months and finally got tired of getting my hands dirty every time I wanted to clean out my egg, plus it makes it a lot easier to lift a hot grid.[p]The plate setter will allow you to do indirect cooks and make good BBQ. [p]A grid extender or raised grid is good and very versatile. It just about doubles your cooking surface and raises delicate foods from the heat.

Been eggin' 3 years here is my list:
Ash tool (can be used in a pinch to remove the grate)
Welding Gloves (do 1 steak and you will understand)
Grate lifter
$1 Stanless Tongs from Walmart (nice and stiff I perfer over all others I have used)
Remote Thermometer
Grate Extender
Cheap Rib Racks
Plate Setter (Don't have this now but it is on the list, I took a webber grate, cut off the handles and place on top of the firebox with drip pan when I somke. For small quantities of food I put the drip pan under the grill extender on the top grate when smoking.[p]I also have a large commercial grade short handle spatula I love but the gloves are a must with it.

want to be a egger, I would also recommend the vertical chicken roaster - we have smoked and cooked many chickens in the egg, tastes great, very moist, and its fun to see your guests' faces when you pull a whole bird out of the egg!
