Oriental Meatballs
Ingredients
MEATBALLS
1 lb lean ground pork
2 cloves garlic minced fine
1 tsp fresh ginger minced fine
1 tsp lite soy sauce
1/4 tsp Sesame oil
1/4 tsp crushed red pepper
1/2 cup chopped green onion
SAUCE
1/4 cup rice vinegar
1/2 cup lite soy sauce
1/4 cup tomato paste
2 tbsp honey
1 tbs Tabasco sauce
1/4 tsp Sesame oil
2 shakes of crushed red pepper
Additional: Chopped green onion to use as garnish
Instructions
Combine all meatball ingredients and mix thoroughly. Form into 2 inch balls. (1 lb pork makes approximately 20-24 meatballs) Set on tray with wax paper and set aside.
Combine all of the sauce ingredients and mix thoroughly. Divide mixed sauce in two as half wil be used as a basting sauce and half will be used as a dipping sauce.
Get BGE to 350 indirect and set up a drip pan or AF to catch the grease. Place meatballs on a wire tray or basket (something the grease can go through) Cook meatballs for 20-25 minutes. After 20-25 minutes brush the sauce all over the meatballs, coating well. Cook for another 10 minutes at 350 or until meatballs are done.
Remove from tray and garnish with diced green onions. Serve with remaining sauce saved for dipping...great appetizers
